3-any way you want it, that's the way you need it

Emergency Textbook Program

A resource that many students use when in desperate need for books is the emergency textbook loan. It is for students who have a gap between their funding and cost of attendance. The way the program works is the students receive their books free of charge (unless lost) and then they have to return the books. Essentially, the books are being loaned out. It is offered through the leads center and the application is online. .  Link is here: http://nau.edu/LEADS-Center/Textbook-Loan-Program/

  1. I honestly had no real idea this existed, so thank you for the information! I feel like a major aspect of university is how expensive the textbooks are (as with most things in college). Some you can get cheaper online of course, but most of the time people just don't have the funds for it. This is an excellent resource, for everyone really, but especially for our students who will no doubt have concerns about textbooks. Thanks!

  2. This is a great source for us as mentors to be aware of! Due to most of our students being low income this could really save a mentees finances and their college career.

  3. After all of my tuition, housing, and fees are paid off each semester, I always have the remaining burden to purchase my textbooks. Most of the time I've been able to manage, but this semester I just couldn't get together enough to close the gap. I had to use this program, and I have to say, that I can't imagine having to go through this semester without my textbooks, especially since my current schedule if extremely lecture heavy. This is one program I will encourage my mentees to take advantage of very early on.
