The Honors Program
The NAU Honors Program is a great resource for academically-minded students because not only does it encourage students to work harder, it also allows a group of like-minded individuals to be put in the same classes, do similar activities (or pathways), and also live in the same area currently located in Cowden Hall. Being a part of the Honors Program requires an application process and if accepted requires you to keep a minimum GPA which varies per accumulated credit hour and it is $100 per semester. To graduate with honors you have to have completed 5 pathway events. A pathway event is any educational event held on campus, you can see which events are "pathways" many way. First, honors students received weekly emails with fliers for all upcoming pathway events. Also, they are advertised in honors classes, around the honors building (Cowden), and you can see them on your calender in BBLearn. To receive a pathway credit for the event you are required to write a short summary of the event within a week or two. You can contact the honors program many ways as well. It is located in Cowden Hall building 38, the phone number is 928-523-3334, and the email is honors@nau.edu. Lastly, you can learn more about the program by going to nau.edu/honors.
