I think the video was a simple way
to express privilege to people in a strong way.
It expressed that people don’t always realize the privilege that they
possess because they often take it for granted.
I grew up in a town that had many kids who were born into wealth, and
they often took for granted the things they received because of this and didn’t
realize the privilege they had. The article
I read discussed salary of men vs. women.
It has been proven that men tend to make more money than women in the
same job position. This is privilege because
there is no reason that men deserve more money, and the salary differential has
been going on for decades. The argument for
salary will go on for as long as the differential is occurring and the privilege
is unfair to women. The consequences
could actually be less jobs for men, because employers will pay women less to
complete the same job.

I agree that when you don't have to worry about how much money you have, you don't need to worry about running out of money and being less privileged. Instead of not being content with what they have, they take for granted of their worth when they should be content with being rich or poor. It is unfair that men make more than women when women have the same ability to succeed as men and do their same jobs. I think that men also have their stereotypes and ideas that women can't do the same tasks that men can do when infact they can and our world is changing to prove that. In order for women and men to have equal pay and be respected in the workforce, men need to change their thoughts on what women cannot do.
ReplyDeleteI COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU! There is NO reason men should be paid more than women. It's sad that in 2015 we still have such inequality. I think though, a consequence could include that halt in growth for women in society. Women are making great change, but money is continuing to be a setback.
