Come, Fly With Me!

Center for International Education

There are students who are certain they want to study abroad while in college. As peer mentors, we probably aren't experts on exactly students need to do if they choose to go. So, this is a great resource to utilize! The Center for International Education is awesome because they try to make studying abroad as affordable for students as it is attending NAU. They have a lot of information on scholarships, they can put students into contact with financial aid, and academic advisors. Studying abroad is definitely an option to consider, and would be so cool to experience. The office is located way over on north campus, Blome Building #2. Everything is free, well except for the actual trip. You can go to http://nau.edu/cie/ to check out what types of programs are available, and then to make an appointment with an advisor based on the geographical area you'd want to study in.
Definitely take advantage while you are still early on into your college studies! Could be a life changing experience!

  1. I've always wanted to study abroad, but raising a family while in school makes it difficult to actually execute. This is definitely an excellent resource, because though I've never studied abroad, I've done a fair amount of travel into Mexico. My time there was some of the greatest and most enlightening of my entire life. Putting the language into practice there still helps me to this day, and experiencing the culture, music, and especially the food in Southern Mexico has left me with some of my fondest memories. I'll definitely look into this more, so that I can refer my mentees to the program.
