1-Role Model
As a peer mentor I see myself as a role model and as someone who would represent the SSS Department to my best ability. What I feel my strengths are is being able to get along with anyone and everyone. I love meeting new people and enjoy being a positive influence in someone's life. My empathy, passion, patience, education, and life experiences have molded me into the person I am today. I am so excited to share my characteristics with fellow NAU students. Areas I may need to improve is biting off more than I can chew. I feel like I can tackle anything and at times tend to stretch myself thin. I would rather take on a little less and be able to give 100% of myself then the opposite.

Vidal,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I am super excited to be working with you! Second, I think you will be great in this role. You and I share a lot of similar strengths and I know I love this job, therefore I think you will love it too! Just make sure you reach out to others when needed and ask for help.
First of all, you seem to have a lot of great strengths and compassion for others. I too always seem to take on more than I can chew but somehow seem to manage it all. Some advice I could tell you is maybe plan the week out and plan something during the week for yourself to take a breather from school and work.
ReplyDeleteI love that you start out by saying that you want to represent SSS to the best of your ability. Its incredible! If people work for the organization instead of working for the paycheck, they would be way more successful. Also, I agree in that I always "bite off more than I can chew". As I said in my post, my plate is always full. Well all have priorities! Love this.
ReplyDeleteVidal,
ReplyDeleteYour excitement to work with students in SSS makes me excited too! Everything that you mentioned that has molded you into the person you are today, (empathy, passion, patience, education, and life experiences) will certainly help you in communicating and guiding your students. If you ever do find yourself overwhelmed, remember that your supervisor can help you and even your fellow coworkers can too!
