3- Student Resources

The Writing Center!

The Writing Center is an amazing resource for students to use, that allows them to better their writing skills. The Writing Center is free to all NAU students. Faculty includes graduate students, who are able to assist students in each stage of the writing process. There are two Writing Centers on campus, both north and south Student Leaning Centers. At the bottom of the post, a link was included for more information. This includes how to make an appointment, hours of operation, and their mission.

  1. This is a great resource! As we enter our junior and senior year classes professors expect our writing skills to be up to par. Some of us may struggle with writing more than others. It's always nice to know there is somewhere we can go to help tweak our writing skills. This resource will help us and our mentees be more successful students no matter what major you may have. I can guarantee almost all courses require some type of writing.

  2. This is a good resource and can help students improve on their writing. It is very beneficial and can help you become a better student overall with your academic writing. I believe this can go for all class to brush up on your writing skills and improve throughout your college career.

  3. Hi! As I commented on another post, I have worked for the SLCs for about two years now and I love it. In regards to the writing centers, I think your post hits the nail on the head. I do want to remind everyone that we do also offer online tutoring in both math and composition. As long as the help you are looking for is more focused on the technicalities of your paper and not the subject matter, be sure to make an appt.! If it is focused on the specifics, call anyways to see if we tutor that area.
