STUDENT LEARNING CENTER
The Student Learning Center is a great resource on campus. The
SLC is located in the Fieldhouse and on South campus by the Suites. Both
centers offer computer use, printing, private study rooms, study workshops, and
private one-one tutoring. The SLC on South campus includes technical support
and is open 24 hours a day. All these amenities are free for all NAU students.

I knew about the student learning centers but not that they offered study rooms or one on one tutoring! This is good to know for when we need a quiet place to study or when we're struggling with our classes.
ReplyDeleteHi, Julia! Thanks for posting about the SLCs. I've worked for the SSLC for about two years now and I love it. You are correct - we do offer services such as: one-on-one tutoring, exam reviews, workshops, group study sessions and more.
ReplyDeleteJust to clear a few things up so we don't have people going to the wrong center for the wrong things - the NSLC will typically tutor subjects that happen on North campus such as chem and bio, where the SSLC will tutor subjects like engineering and accounting. Both center work with math. Unfortunately, neither center has computers available for use or printing, but the SSLC happens to be located in the Student Tech Center which houses a full computer lab and the Student IT crew - Through them, you can print.
Please feel free to ask me or to call either center at ext. x5524 or x7391 to get more information about services. We just offer way more than I can remember to explain like SI or the Math Achievement Program in Adel.
